Overview:

The Mechanic position is based out of our KinderHawk office located at 9580 Saint Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA  71106.  This position requires on-call responsibilities for nights and weekends.

Primary Purpose: Under close supervision, performs maintenance and/or construction of plant/pipeline, the right-of-way and grounds around pipeline and facilities. Typically requires more than three years of Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline and Facility maintenance experience. 

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Comes to work promptly and regularly.

  • May perform maintenance and/or construction of the plant/pipeline, the right of way and ground around pipeline or other facilities.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain structural, mechanical and electrical equipment and/or auxiliary equipment at natural gas compressor and Treating stations.
  • Overhaul compressors, engines, turbines, motors, pumps and process equipment.
  • Provide training to other company personnel on proper operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform engine/compressor, pump, motor performance analysis.
  • Interpret lubricating oil, coolant and other operating reports.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
  • Oversee/inspect the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
  • Identify report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork as required.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
  • Maintain natural gas compressors, treating facilities and pipeline as required.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School degree or equivalent Experience / specific knowledge

 

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  • May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties and applicable to the job classification
  • Completion of any site specific technical training may be applicable

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Capable of climbing stairs, ladders and working various equipment during production and drilling operations.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with AMINE treatment, gas processing or glycol treatment required.
  • A basic understanding of pipeline and compressor stations layout, operations, machines and maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience in operations of natural gas pipelines including operations of gas dehydration, compression and treating facilities.
  • Proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A safe driving record, along with the ability to safely operate heavy machinery, vehicles, or equipment as needed is required.
  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s) and lead personnel, focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.

 

Working conditions / Physical demands:

  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Must be able to frequently, enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist (occasional)
  • May work in low-lit areas

 

Minimum Training and Experience:
The minimum training and experience needed for this position include the following:

  • Three or more years of experience Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline and Facility operational experience.
  • Previous oilfield maintenance experience in working at an E&P/Gas Gathering company.
