Job Summary: The Public Works Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repair work on gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including construction machinery, snow-removal units, and various powered and non-powered tools. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, removing, installing, disassembling, and assembling electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, components, and engines. The mechanic also maintains accurate accountability of parts, tools, and materials required to support fleet maintenance and overall departmental operations.
