The Basics:

Job: Diesel Shop Helper

Location: North Salt Lake, UT

Compensation: $18 to $22/hour

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 7 am to 3 pm

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for overall facility cleanliness
• Work alongside mechanics, managers, drivers and other office personnel to perform minor repairs and cleaning of the equipment and facilities, keeping them in a safe condition
• Maintain parts room inventory, stocking and cleaning
• Maintain a good attendance record
• Work weekends as needed
• May have the opportunity to participate in the Safety Specialist program;
• Respond to requests that will assist the locations team members in carrying out their job more efficiently by running errands and moving items to, from, and around the operation

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• Experience in a maintenance shop or industrial environment preferred, but not required
• Able to work safely in adverse conditions: summer heat, freezing conditions, snow, wet
• Comply with all safety standards
• Complete duties in a timely manner as assigned
• Attend communication meetings and safety training as scheduled
• Be able to read, write, speak and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
• Operate or move equipment around the yard and shop
• Flexibility and ability to work on various shop, maintenance and yard tasks
• Strong commitment to safety Reliable

Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:

• Will be on your feet for an extended period throughout the day
• Navigating the facility will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks, other high places, ground that can be slick, icy, or uneven, and other industrial hazards
• The work site is an industrial setting and will require someone who can work safely in this type of environment
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
