    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of tree service equipment. This role is responsible for keeping trucks, chippers, stump grinders, lifts, and small engine equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operation. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Great communication and reliability are important. We offer paid vacation, holidays and 401k. weekly payroll. Salary depending in experience.     Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet including:

      • Bucket trucks and dump trucks

      • Stump grinders

      • Grapple trucks and trailers

      • Chainsaws, blowers, and other small engines

    • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections

    • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems

    • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance

    • Maintain service records and parts inventory

    • Coordinate repairs to minimize equipment downtime

    • Perform occasional emergency or on-call repairs

    • Keep shop and work areas clean and organized

    • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a mechanic (fleet, diesel, heavy equipment, or similar)

    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

    • Ability to diagnose mechanical issues efficiently

    • Experience with preventative maintenance programs

    • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)

    • Ability to lift heavy parts and work in outdoor/shop environments

    • Reliable, organized, and safety-focused

    Preferred (Not Required)

    • Tree service or landscaping equipment experience

    • CDL Class A or B

    • Welding and fabrication skills

    • ASE or similar certifications

    • Experience with DOT compliance
