Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Mechanic on behalf of our client, a tire and automotive service provider. This role is responsible for diagnosing vehicle issues and performing front-end mechanical repairs and maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have professional automotive repair experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment. Candidates must bring their own tools and demonstrate hands-on experience performing automotive repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine vehicles and identify necessary mechanical repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Perform front-end mechanical repairs and services.
  • Complete wheel alignments and suspension system repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems, including disc and drum brakes.
  • Operate brake lathes and related automotive equipment.
  • Repair and replace suspension components, including struts, shocks, and control arms.
  • Diagnose and repair gear boxes and related front-end mechanical systems.
  • Conduct inspections to identify safety or performance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and services performed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient shop operations and customer satisfaction.
Requirements Include:Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
  • Professional experience as an automotive mechanic or technician required.
  • Hands-on experience performing front-end mechanical repairs, brake work, alignments, and suspension repairs required.
  • Experience with gear boxes and related systems preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate professional automotive repair experience on their resume.
  • Self-taught mechanics without professional experience will not be considered.
Skills:
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency using automotive repair tools and shop equipment.
  • Ability to perform brake repairs, alignments, and suspension work efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
  • ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of front-end automotive systems and mechanical repair procedures.
  • Understanding of brake systems, suspension systems, and alignment processes.
  • Familiarity with shop safety standards and best practices.
