Job Description

We are seeking a Rework Mechanic (ORV Mechanic) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing off-road vehicles and components and a proven ability to drive inventory reduction through quality repairs, scrap processing, and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical repairs, inspections, and refurbishment of off-road vehicles (ATVs/UTVs/snowmobiles).
  • Diagnose issues and replace major components including engines, drivetrains, frames, and electrical systems.
  • Prepare vehicles for sale with service, updates, and quality checks.
  • Process vehicles for scrap by draining fluids, removing batteries, and performing teardown.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using desktop systems and tablets.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move vehicles and components.
  • Support inventory organization across storage areas including racking, mezzanines, and yard storage.
  • Assist with vehicle sale processing and documentation.
  • Support track and trail maintenance and general facility operations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years hands-on mechanic or technician experience in powersports, automotive, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostics and major component repair experience.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts or willingness to become certified.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for sorting and basic data use.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and work with heavy components in a shop environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2-year technical degree in PowerSports, Automotive, Diesel, or related field.
  • Powersports or ORV experience with ATV, UTV, or snowmobile platforms.
  • Inventory management or warehouse operations experience.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems such as scan tools and CAN systems.
  • Fabrication and welding experience.
  • Skid loader or heavy equipment operation experience.
  • Experience with teardown, refurbishment, or scrap and salvage processes.

  • Work Arrangement: Full onsite.
  • Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST.
  • Start Date: ASAP.
  • Periodic travel may be required to plants or warehouse locations.
  • Environment: Fast-paced, hands-on shop setting.
