    Education Required:  Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Science in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.


    Experience:
    • 10+ years’ experience in developing modifications to military or commercial aircraft including design and substantiation.
    • Experience in FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements related to aircraft structural integrity.
    • Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design
    • Knowledge of and experience with military (or commercial) operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications
    • Strong communications skills and work ethic.

    Position Description:
    • Provides mechanical engineering support to F-5 Systems Lead Engineer within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226.
    • Provides senior level review of mechanical design, modification and repair of F-5N+/F+ aircraft and adherence to Structural Integrity and Airworthiness considerations.
    • Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including but not limited to; Structures, Mechanisms, and Flight Controls.
    • As directed, coordinates and triages mechanical technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services.
    • Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs.
    • Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with key technical engineering products (including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as program contractual documents (including Statements of Work [SOW]).
    Salary:
    This is a part time on call position with an estimated hourly rate of $53 to $79 per hour. The rates will be dependent on experience.
