Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembler
Reports to: Production Manager
Department: ProductionJob Purpose
A mechanical assembler is tasked to assemble products according to engineering specifications and drawings, utilizing various tools provided. The individual will perform a variety of mechanical operations, and they are responsible for communicating to relevant team members and departments, any issues or concerns that arise throughout the build process. They will adhere to the planned schedule set forth by the account manager and relay any delays or modifications needed to the plan.Key Responsibilities
Follows methods and sequence of operations in performing the build
Required to read work orders and interpret manufacturing drawings. Must have the ability to follow production drawings and sample assemblies.
Utilize hand tools to perform tasks
Regularly receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed and at times will be required to provide feedback or recommendations to improve the assembly method and technique.
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in assembly and following build process documents is preferred
Knowledge of use of basic hand tools, torque tools, and buff tools is desired
Experience in defense manufacturing or aerospace assembly is favourable
Ability to work well in a team and independently
High motivation and drive
Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in assembling is preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
US Person: either a passport holder or US permanent resident
Hand tools experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience using hand tools and/or torque tools in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
Assembly experience: Prior mechanical/electromechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
Strongly preferred - Blueprint/drawing reading: Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, work orders, and sample assemblies.
Major plus - Buffing experience: Experience with buffing tools/processes is a significant differentiator for this role.
