Mechanical Assembler

Location: Technibus
Department: Manufacturing/Production
Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Position Summary

Technibus is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Mechanical Assembler to join our production team. This position is responsible for assembling electrical gear and switchgear components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical gear and switchgear components according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Read and accurately interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure materials and components accurately using a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, including wrenches, drills, impact drivers, and other assembly equipment.
  • Install and secure nuts, bolts, brackets, and mechanical hardware to required specifications.
  • Perform mechanical assembly while maintaining quality standards and production schedules.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and apply problem-solving skills to resolve mechanical fit or assembly concerns.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
Specific Qualifications:

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of nuts, bolts, fasteners, and torque applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Experience assembling electrical gear, switchgear, or industrial electrical equipment.
  • Overhead crane operation experience (or willingness to become crane certified).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull 60–80 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and wrists for gripping, twisting, and operating hand and power tools ("spin a wrench").
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
