Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Pay: $19–$20/hr
General Purpose:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing mechanical components and subassemblies used in enclosures for data centers. This role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions, interpret technical drawings, and ensure all assemblies meet quality and safety standards. The assembler may also perform minor repairs and assist with troubleshooting production issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Assemble mechanical components, panels, frames, brackets, and enclosures according to specifications.
- Perform mechanical fitting, fastening, drilling, tapping, torqueing, and alignment of components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Install hardware, brackets, hinges, rails, and mechanical support systems into enclosures and assemblies.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and component placement using measuring instruments.
- Assist with layout and preparation of materials and subassemblies for production.
- Perform modifications, adjustments, and minor fabrication as needed to meet engineering requirements.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials, production issues, or quality concerns.
- Support troubleshooting and rework activities on mechanical assemblies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and complete work orders as required.
- Ensure all assemblies meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Collaborate with assemblers, technicians, engineers, and supervisors to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
- Assist with inventory handling, material staging, and workstation organization as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational education preferred.
- 1–3+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, electrical enclosures, or metal fabrication environments preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
