Job Description
This role focuses on assembling modular cooling systems for data centers by reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to build large subassemblies and complete units. You will performprecise mechanical assembly, use a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure all components meet strict tolerances and product specifications. The position involves working with industrial equipment, preparing products for shipment, and supporting material movement in a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to assemble fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of modular units and skid assemblies with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use hand tools and power tools, including drills, impacts, grinders, wrenches, and pliers, to assemble and secure components.
  • Operate a propane hand torch to apply shrink wrap material to products prior to shipping.
  • Test and calibrate parts and assemblies to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications.
  • Move and position materials and assemblies using pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and mobile floor cranes as needed.
  • Safely operate a forklift and scissor lift when required for material handling and assembly support.
  • Coordinate daily tasks with Soldering Technicians, Electrical Assemblers, Mechanical Assemblers, and Helpers to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Monitor work quality and identify any assembly or calibration issues, escalating concerns and assisting in corrective actions.

Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience assembling subassembly units and complete systems.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools, including drills, impacts, grinders, wrenches, pliers, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and mobile floor cranes for material handling.
  • Experience using a propane hand torch for tasks such as applying shrink wrap or similar material treatments.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when assembling, testing, and calibrating mechanical components.
  • Capability to perform general labor tasks associated with mechanical assembly in a production setting.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a brand-new, large industrial space that is climate controlled, with operations expanding from one building to three adjacent buildings. The dress code includes steel-toe footwear, work pants, work shirt, and safety glasses. The role is on a day shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of increasing to approximately 50-60 hours per week as production ramps up.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pearland, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
