Job Description:

  • Assembly of structural and mechanical components safely and efficiently to produce a quality product that meets specifications
  • Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimal supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using the proper tools and equipment
  • Read and follow assembly specifications, bills of material and drawing sets, and identify discrepancies. Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units.
  • Assemble parts according to print, including fitment, alignment, and adjustment. Ensuring mechanisms are free from binding or interference and function properly, and diagnose and repair improper mechanical assembly or operation.
  • Maintain ISO-9001 standards
  • Safely perform all duties; support all safety and environmental rules and environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives to provide ongoing continuous improvement ideas for products, process, and procedures
  • Work in other areas of the plant as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Skilled and experienced with operating hand, power, and pneumatic-operated tools common to the trade.
  • Blueprint reading capabilities, understanding of measurements and tolerances
  • Ability to obtain forklift (license)
  • Ability to learn how to properly handle overhead cranes safely

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or exposure to lean concepts
  • Willing to work long hours, overtime, and weekends as required
  • Effective team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, reach and carry, or otherwise move objects exerting up to 75 pounds of force
  • Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • DOT Physical Required.
