Assembler, Instrument
Location: Sparks, MD
Pay Rate: $23.00/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Important Notes:

Onsite position
In-person interview required
Reliable transportation required (Not accessible by public transit)
Safety shoes required
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
 
Position Overview
The Assembler 3, Instrument performs a variety of mechanical and electromechanical assembly operations on instruments, subassemblies, cables, panels, frames, and modules. This position requires the ability to assemble, troubleshoot, inspect, test, and repair complex production assemblies while maintaining strict quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, experience using precision hand tools, and the ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble complete instruments and integrate multiple subassemblies.
  • Perform mechanical and electromechanical assembly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Complete device history records and production documentation.
  • Record serial numbers, tools used, and production data.
  • Perform basic component and module testing.
  • Identify defects and recommend process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and perform repairs.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
  • Perform prototype assembly, rework, and modifications.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams.
  • Perform material handling of raw materials and subassemblies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all GMP, safety, and company operating procedures.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor other production associates as needed.
  • Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience ORAssociate's Technical Degree with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience using torque drivers, gauges, drill bits, and other precision mechanical tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple production orders simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
