Job Title: Mechanical AssemblerJob Description

The Mechanical Assembler builds high-quality mechanical assemblies by following detailed blueprints and schematics, using a variety of hand and power tools. This role ensures that components meet precise specifications through careful measurement, inspection, and adherence to established manufacturing processes. The Mechanical Assembler works collaboratively with the production team to meet output targets while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to specifications, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Use small hand and power tools to build and complete final products in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure correct assembly and proper fit of parts.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, or larger systems as required.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards.
  • Conduct quality checks on assembled products to confirm compliance with established standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including proper storage and care of tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals and resolve assembly issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, product quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations when assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support production and operational needs.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of on-the-job training or experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Assembler or in a comparable mechanical fabrication position.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical assembly practices.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in assembly work.
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality verification.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and standard assembly techniques.
  • Ability to use tape measures and other basic measuring tools accurately.
  • Capability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and adherence to established procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort using a variety of small tools to build and complete final products.
  • Exposure to soldering in an assembly context.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities and adapt to process changes.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly workspace and manage multiple tasks.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components or assemblies is beneficial.

Work Environment

This role operates in a climate-controlled, organized manufacturing facility designed for comfort and efficiency. The standard schedule is a first-shift role, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours and predictable workdays. You will work with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and follow structured processes in a clean and orderly production area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
