Position Overview
We are seeking a mechanically inclined Mechanical Assembler to join our Overhaul & Repair department on 2nd shift. This is a Grade 10 Union position with a starting rate of $26.04/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, has a strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing quality work in a manufacturing environment.
Position DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and overhauling precision mechanical components and systems. You will work from engineering drawings and blueprints to identify required parts, perform assemblies to exact specifications, and inspect your own work to ensure quality standards are met. You will use a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments throughout the assembly process and are expected to work independently while flagging any missing parts or discrepancies. Mechanical Assembly Experience - 2+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment; must be mechanically inclined with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Precision Tools & Inspection - Proficient in the use of hand tools and standard measuring equipment including test gauges, calipers, and scales; must be able to inspect own work and perform rework or repairs as needed.
Technical Background - Experience as an automobile mechanic, HVAC technician, or working on large engines and equipment is a strong plus; must be comfortable disassembling and reassembling components to close tolerances.
Physical & Professional Standards - Ability to lift up to 85 lbs and perform physical tasks including reaching, stooping, and standing for extended periods; must be able to work independently and maintain a safety-conscious work ethic.
