Job Summary

This role serves as a technical reference for the mechanical discipline, with responsibility for detailed engineering activities across the mechanical scope. This includes the definition, study, and design of plant and equipment layouts, piping layouts, civil inputs, mechanical and piping supports, and mechanical equipment layout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define piping classes, general arrangement drawings, and isometric designs.
  • Support the development of designs in both 3D and 2D using 3D software.
  • Actively participate in meetings with clients, including 3D Model Review sessions.
  • Issue Material Requisitions, Data Sheets, and specifications needed to supply complete packages and related materials or services, from Request for Quotation (RfQ) to tabulations, up to the issuance of the order.
  • Supervise all activities carried out by subcontractors of external engineering.
  • Supervise and support subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with the design.
  • Evaluate construction methods and determine the cost-effectiveness of plans based on experience.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks, ensuring projects are realized on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure adherence to sound engineering practices, national/international rules, and customer technical specifications.
  • Design with optimization of costs, time, quality, and operability in mind.
  • Pay attention to details and their feasibility.
  • Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems.
  • Alter and modify designs to meet requirements and eliminate malfunctions.
  • Solicit observations from operators.
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods.
  • Support the Line Manager in providing engineering support for plant activities.
  • Liaise with Proposal and Sales Operations to support proposals, critically reading client specifications, and helping evaluate associated costs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in large-scale projects and with major clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software, both 2D and 3D.
  • Solid understanding of core concepts, including mechanics and materials science.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and operability.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical national and international standards and codes.
