Mechanical Claims SpecialistOverview
This role is ideal for experienced automotive mechanics looking to transition from hands-on repair work into an office-based or hybrid environment. You will leverage your mechanical expertise to evaluate mechanical claims, support customers and repair facilities, and guide callers through the claims process. This position offers a stable schedule, growth potential, and a supportive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Use technical automotive knowledge to evaluate and process mechanical claims accurately.
+ Communicate with vehicle owners, dealerships, and repair facilities by phone and email.
+ Review repair needs to determine whether claims meet coverage guidelines.
+ Explain claim decisions and guide customers through the next steps in the repair/claim process.
+ Document all interactions and claim details using internal claims-processing systems.
+ Provide empathetic and professional support when handling questions or concerns.
+ Collaborate with claim analysts and leadership to maintain consistent, high-quality service.
Types of Calls Handled
+ Dealerships confirming whether specific repairs are covered under warranty based on set guidelines.
+ Vehicle owners asking why a claim was approved or denied.
+ Vehicle owners seeking direction on how to obtain repair estimates and determine coverage eligibility.
You will use your mechanical background to understand the repair issue and determine coverage or next steps.
Required Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or in a related mechanical field
+ Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and ability to explain repairs to both technical and non-technical customers
+ Excellent verbal communication skills
+ Previous customer service experience, especially handling complex situations
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple software systems
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
+ ASE certification is a plus
Additional Requirements
+ Ability to attend a 2‑week onboarding training at one of the company’s designated locations
+ Willingness to work occasional Saturdays
+ Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for remote or hybrid schedules
+ Experience with AllData or similar labor guides (preferred)
+ Experience using scan tools (preferred)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
