Mechanical Design Consultant for Large Format 3D Printer Motion SystemWe seek assistance of a Mechanical Design Consultant. This is an in-person contract position at Creative 3D Technologies (C3DT) , located in Austin, Texas.About Creative 3D Technologies (C3DT): is an award-winning, Austin-based machinery manufacturing startup reimagining how products are made. As the world moves toward more sustainable, efficient, and chain resilient production systems, C3DT is pioneering a new approach called Single-Cell Manufacturing; a breakthrough in how and where manufacturing happens.QualificationsMotion System Design Experience : Expertise in linear motion systems for 3D printers, including belt‑driven or screw‑driven gantries, rail guides (e.g., Hiwin), and calibration for IDEX dual‑toolhead synchronization.IDEX Printer Mechanics : Direct work on Independent Dual Extruder printers, addressing frame rigidity, vibration damping, and toolhead alignment in large‑format builds.Klipper Integration Knowledge : Familiarity with Klipper's kinematics models, input shaping, and pressure advance tuning for mechanical precision.Mechanical Analysis Skills : Proficiency in FEA for stress/strain, tolerance analysis, and material selection for high‑duty cycles.3D Printing Mechanical Specialization : 5+ years in additive manufacturing, focusing on large‑format printer mechanics and failure modes like belt stretch or axis binding.CAD and Simulation Tools : Advanced skills in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape; experience with ANSYS or similar for motion studies.Relevant Certifications or Education : Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics; certifications in precision engineering (e.g., GD&T).Consulting/Industry Experience : History of audits for 3D printer manufacturers, delivering reports on uptime or redesigns.Availability and Soft Skills : On‑site capability; ability to collaborate with electronics teams and provide actionable recommendations.Seniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeContractJob FunctionManagement and Manufacturing#J-18808-Ljbffr
