Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in product design and development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing mechanical components and assemblies, as well as proficiency in industry-standard CAD tools for creating and optimizing complex designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for product development programs.
- Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation using CAD software.
- Design and support development of plastic and metal parts, printed circuit board (PCB) integrations, and flexible circuit assemblies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineering to ensure successful product development.
- Conduct design reviews and support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
- Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost objectives.
- Support engineering change management and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience designing mechanical components, including plastic parts, metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards (PCBs), or flex circuits.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience using CAD tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on consumer electronics, wearable devices, robotics, automotive, or similar products.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Experience supporting prototype development and validation testing.
