TITLE: Mechanical Design Engineer
TYPE: Direct Hire
LOCATION: Fairless Hills, PA
ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Onsite

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to design and detail standard and custom large-scale industrial equipment. Utilizing your technical expertise and adhering to accepted design criteria, you will work on projects assigned by the Engineering Manager, Project Manager, or Director of Engineering. All designs and drawings must be created using Autodesk Inventor software in alignment with the Engineering Department's design guidelines.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and optimize mechanical components for powertrain systems.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • Conduct analyses of mechanical systems, including finite element analysis for structural integrity, fatigue, thermal performance, vibration, and acoustics.
  • Analyze and specify electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
  • Produce manufacturing drawings that comply with relevant standards.
  • Develop components such as frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, and clutches.
  • Specify system components or direct modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Work with system engineers and other team members to establish operating procedures, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and provide technical support.
  • Create detailed designs for fabricated weldments and machined components.
  • Research and evaluate customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to assess feasibility, costs, and maintenance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and finite element analysis.
  • Background in designing multi-axis continuous duty industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with robotics and industrial automation.
  • Ability to analyze customer design proposals and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical principles and knowledge.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics.
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment and computer hardware/software.
