Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Greensboro, NC. The ideal candidate with experience in product design, development, and engineering solutions, supporting new product introductions and cost optimization initiatives.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and assemblies using Pro-E/Creo to meet product performance, quality, and cost requirements.

• Support new product development activities from concept through production, including detailed engineering design and documentation.

• Lead and execute Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product deployment and production readiness.

• Conduct engineering analyses, including FMEA, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, and design reviews to identify and resolve product issues.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners on machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal design projects to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design, development, and implementation.

• Strong hands-on experience with Pro-E/Creo for 3D modeling, design development, and engineering documentation.

• Experience with VAVE projects and manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal design, with knowledge of DFM, FMEA, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis preferred.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
