Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Henrico, VA Onsite
Experience: 4 8 Years

Job Summary: Seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with a strong background in Low Voltage Switchgear and Sheet Metal Design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing switchgear components and support structures, along with knowledge of UL 891 standards and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Low Voltage Switchgear and related mechanical components.
• Perform sheet metal design, including support structures and copper components.
• Design mechanical components for Tap-Off Units, Power Distribution Units (PDU), Remote Power Panels (RPP), and Main Switch Boards.
• Apply UL 891 standards to mechanical designs and product development.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and meet DFM requirements.
• Support design improvements and manufacturing processes as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4 8 years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience.
• Strong Low Voltage Switchgear industry/design experience is required.
• Hands-on experience with Sheet Metal and Copper Component Design.
• Knowledge of UL 891 Standards.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
