America by 2xGet notified about new Mechanical Design Engineer jobs in Los Angeles Metropolitan Area .ResponsibilitiesGenerate detailed designs via CAD systems and engineering drawings with appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Support space hardware qualification/acceptance campaignsDeliver well‑written test plans, procedures, and reportsDesign of test fixturesAssembly and build of test/flight hardwareDevelop space hardware assembly build proceduresPerform mechanical builds of prototype or space hardwareExperience working with cross functional teams and a strong ability to collaborate.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural, and Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience with Siemens NX CAD package (Siemens NX, NX Teamcenter, GD&T per ASME Y14.5).3+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration and test.Familiar with mechanical test instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, etc.Familiar with mechanical assembly, typical assembly tools, and space hardware build best practices.Preferred qualificationsMaster's or PhD degree in Mechanical, Structural, and Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.Track record of successfully delivering compelling written reports and complete designs on time, to scope, with high quality.5+ years of experience with Siemens NX CAD package (Siemens NX, NX Teamcenter, GD&T per ASME Y14.5).5+ years of experience in space hardware assembly, integration and test.Space hardware thermal vacuum test experience.Space hardware vibration test experience.Solid understanding of design for manufacturing methods.Data analysis/processing capabilities.High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experienced with Issue tracking applications (JIRA, TRAC).Demonstrated experience working with government agencies.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionSemiconductor ManufacturingLocationLos Angeles Metropolitan Area#J-18808-Ljbffr
