Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Patterson/Brewster, NY Area (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay: $28.85-$31.25/hour

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the design and development of innovative electronic products. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment where you"ll have direct involvement from concept through production, working closely with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for electronic enclosures, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Translate engineering requirements into practical, manufacturable mechanical designs that ensure fit, form, and function
  • Partner with electrical engineers, manufacturing personnel, quality teams, and suppliers throughout product development
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and design documentation
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities
  • Revise and improve designs based on testing results and production feedback
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles, tolerance analysis, and material selection best practices
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and internal engineering specifications
  • Troubleshoot production-related design issues and implement effective engineering solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Associate"s or Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent SolidWorks certification
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience creating mechanical designs, drawings, and assemblies
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, drafting standards, and tolerance analysis
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing electronic enclosures, connectors, couplers, or related electronic components
  • Background supporting products in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with layout design and design documentation management
  • Familiarity with prototype development and product testing

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
