JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
- Designs, develops, validates, and supports mechanical components and systems for power electronics/electric drive products, including CAD design (Creo), testing, manufacturing support, and cross-functional collaboration.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using Creo, support testing and validation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive product improvements, and provide manufacturing and supplier support throughout the product development lifecycle.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 4+ years of mechanical design/product development experience, preferably in power electronics, electric drive systems, or heavy equipment industries.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Creo CAD design and 3D modeling
- GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Mechanical design and product development
- Design validation, testing, and troubleshooting
- Thermal and vibration analysis/testing
- Manufacturing processes and supplier collaboration
- Engineering documentation and change management
- Cross-functional product development support
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Power electronics or electric drive systems experience
- FEA/CFD analysis (ANSYS preferred)
- Thermal management and cooling system design
- DFMEA, DVP&R, and reliability engineering knowledge
- New product development (NPD) experience
- Heavy equipment, automotive, or electrification industry experience
- Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
