About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 3+ years of experience supporting Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design and equipment engineering expertise, with experience supporting projects from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and startup.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical equipment, process systems, and related components for Life Sciences manufacturing environments.
Create and review 3D models, engineering drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical layouts.
Perform equipment selection, design reviews, equipment fit-up, and technical evaluations.
Coordinate with equipment vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Apply GD&T, mechanical design principles, and manufacturing processes to engineering deliverables.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
Ensure designs align with applicable GMP, FDA, ASME, and industry requirements.
Participate in technical documentation, design reviews, and project execution activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience, preferably within Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device manufacturing.
Strong experience with mechanical equipment and process system design.
Proficiency in 3D CAD and engineering drawing development.
Experience with one or more of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor.
Working knowledge of P&IDs, GD&T, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with equipment selection, vendor coordination, and engineering design reviews.
Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and ASME standards.
Ability to support installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
