Summary:

Working Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Work Mode: Hybrid: 1-2 days on site per week

Prefers local candidates

Travel: 10% possible travel, domestic, Customer site visits



Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to field engineers and service managers during outage planning and execution of industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines for both company and oOEM units.
  • Lead service center complex repairs on rotors, diaphragms, casings, valves, etc.
  • Act as single point of contact and technical interface for complex repairs projects with repairs sales, customer service managers, project managers, sourcing, engineering, and quality team.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet technical requirements and deadlines.
  • Establish yourself as Project Engineering Manager to successfully deliver steam turbine projects in execution for Own Fleet Capital Parts and complex Upgrades, Engineering Studies, and valve solutions.
  • Implement lean methodologies to ensure robust daily management, engineering deliverables, and continuous improvement focused on Safety, Quality, Deliver & Cost.
  • Provide inspection and test plans for site assembly/disassembly and service center repair scope.
  • Lead and participate in product qualification processes for service shops, design reviews, and technical risk discussions internally and externally with customers.
  • Offer technical recommendations and guidance during outage planning phase to internal and external customers.
  • Provide technical guidance to parts engineering and sourcing teams for product design form, fit, and function.
  • Address product/process non-conformances and support implementation of corrective/preventative actions through RCA.
  • Collaborate with sales/service directors, on-site services, repairs centers, field engineers, and parts engineering groups to provide technical direction and guidance.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in steam turbine service engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field execution experience, preferably within the power generation industry.
  • Catia CAD drafting experience will be a bonus.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Good understanding of steam turbine and balance of plant systems and operations.
  • Knowledge of steam turbine rotating and stationary components inspection methods and repairs.
  • Experience with steam turbine disassembly, assembly, startups, and operational exposure.
  • Respectful, receptive, agile, and eager to learn.
