    Description

    Join a mission-driven startup building robotic systems to solve one of the world's fastest-growing environmental challenges: electronic waste.This hands-on role sits at the intersection of automation, robotics, and mechanical design. You'll develop advanced tooling systems—such as end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), custom fixtures, and precision electromechanical components—to enable robotic platforms to autonomously disassemble complex electronics like laptops, servers, and battery packs.If you enjoy building from scratch, iterating quickly, and working across disciplines to create real-world, scalable impact, this is an opportunity to directly shape the future of sustainable electronics manufacturing.What You'll Do Design and prototype robotic tooling systems for tasks such as gripping, unscrewing, cutting, and material separationCreate modular, scalable tools adaptable to different devices and product typesTranslate hardware process needs into robust mechanical designsCollaborate closely with robotics, controls, software, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integrationConduct detailed analyses (tolerancing, FEA, DFM) to ensure durability and precisionDrive the full product lifecycle—from CAD and prototyping to in-field deployment and iterationPotential to mentor others and contribute to a growing engineering teamWhat We're Looking For 5–7 years of hands-on, professional mechanical engineering experience (non-internship)Deep background in mechanical design, particularly for automation or roboticsStrong CAD skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar)Experience with EOAT or robotic tooling—especially gripping, fastening, or cutting toolsKnowledge of rapid prototyping and manufacturing methods (e.g., CNC, 3D printing, sheet metal)Comfortable working in-person on hardware in a fast-paced R&D environmentStrong cross-functional communication and debugging skillsHighly detail-oriented and motivated to deliver production-grade solutionsThe Work Environment 100% in-person in a well-equipped R&D and prototyping space in Northern VirginiaAccess to CNC equipment, 3D printers, and robotics platformsSmall, mission-focused team solving complex challenges with a hands-on approachBacked by revenue and mission-aligned investors, the company is profitable and focused on sustainable, long-term impactIf you're looking to apply your mechanical expertise to real systems with real-world environmental impact—and you thrive in collaborative, hands-on environments—we'd love to hear from you.Apply now to help build the next generation of circular electronics technology.#J-18808-Ljbffr
