    Description

    Our client, a world leader in semiconductors, is looking for a “Mechanical Design Engineer” based out of Milpitas, CA.

    Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)
    Rate: $60-$66/hr on W2

    Summary:
    In this role, you will design precision mechanical subsystems and electronic packaging for complex capital equipment, supporting projects from concept through manufacturing release. The ideal candidate has strong experience in mechanical product design, SolidWorks, FEA, and tolerance analysis, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

    Responsibilities
    • Design precision mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems using SolidWorks
    • Develop electronics packaging, enclosures, brackets, frames, and structural components
    • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and tolerance stack-up analysis to validate designs
    • Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
    • Support the complete product development lifecycle from concept, prototyping, testing, and design verification through production release
    • Work closely with electrical, optical, manufacturing, and systems engineers to optimize product performance
    • Incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Excellence (DFX) principles into product designs
    • Resolve design issues and support prototype builds and engineering changes
    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of mechanical product design experience
    • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
    • Experience designing electronics packaging and precision mechanical assemblies
    • Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
    • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through manufacturing release
