Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical tools, jigs, and fixtures for electronics recycling using 3D CAD.
• Create part/assembly models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and revision-controlled documentation.
• Develop prototypes and improve designs based on testing and operator feedback.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles for durable and manufacturable tooling.
• Build, fit, and test prototypes in lab and recycling environments.
• Support tool commissioning, validation, training, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate design changes, SOPs, and cross-functional projects.
• Travel to company and partner facility sites as required.

Required Skills:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Engineering Technology.
• 5 10 years of mechanical engineering/tooling/jig/fixture design experience.
• Strong 3D CAD & 2D drawing skills.
• Autodesk Inventor & Vault preferred; SolidWorks, Creo, Pro-E, or Fusion 360 transferable.
• Hands-on tool, jig, and fixture design/build experience.
• Experience with PLM/document management systems.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA, prototyping, testing, and MSA.
• Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools for engineering documentation/workflows is a plus.
