Mechanical Designer - Exton, PA

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to create, develop, and improve designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment. This role works closely with engineers to review specifications, develop drawings, and improve manufacturing systems and processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced with 3D and 2D design software.

Responsibilities

-Design equipment using input from the engineering team, ensuring designs conform to company procedures, regulations, and client standards
-Complete preliminary sketches for Engineering, Sales, and Marketing review, as well as final design drawings for products
-Revise designs for existing products using customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve, or repair existing equipment
-Actively identify and suggest manufacturing and design improvements to reduce cost and enhance product quality
-Use 3D solid and 2D design software to produce accurate designs in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
-Provide drawing files in various formats as required by customers
-Organize and manage mechanical design documentation and drawing storage on the company network
-Maintain libraries of solid parts to streamline design efforts and recommend software and organizational improvements
-Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to formalize design changes, track sign-offs, and distribute drawings across departments



Requirements

-Experience in mechanical design, engineering, or a related technical role
-Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
-Strong computer and mathematical skills
-Complete knowledge of 3D modeling, 2D drafting, mechanical assemblies, layouts, and drawing documentation
-Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation
-Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, casting, injection molding, and assembly
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
-Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with an engineering team across multiple projects

Preferences

-Experience designing industry-specific or custom-engineered equipment
-Familiarity with Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes
-Experience managing CAD libraries and design documentation systems
