Mechanical Designer — Robotics & Automation

An International robotic systems and automation company with a facility in Greater Detroit area is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for a Direct Hire opportunity with its growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Designer looking for strong exposure to robotic applications, custom mechanical design, advanced automation projects, and continued technical development.

Mechanical Designer compensation is anticipated to be based on experience and education. All well-qualified candidates will be considered regardless of pay rate. The company offers a competitive benefits package and an opportunity to contribute to innovative robotic-system solutions.

Qualified Mechanical Designers will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years of recent, relevant mechanical design experience, ideally supporting robotics, automation, special machinery, material handling, or similar engineered systems.
• Recent experience creating and revising mechanical designs, detailed drawings, layouts, and assemblies for custom equipment or automated manufacturing applications.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with CAD/CAM and 3D mechanical design software; experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, robot simulation, or comparable systems is highly desirable.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, customers, vendors, manufacturing, and sales/proposal teams to define specifications and develop practical design concepts.
• Exposure to robotic systems, robotic techniques, automation programming, RIA safety, FMEA/risk analysis, ISO standards, reliability, or maintainability concepts is highly valuable.
• An Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or a related technical discipline is beneficial but not essential; equivalent mechanical design and automation experience will be strongly considered.
• Must be able to work in the United States; no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered.
• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, and references.
