Overview

System One is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. Must be local to the Richland, WA area.

Tasks:

• Performs layout and design work from the data supplied utilizing theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
• Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications and has a working understanding of the engineering design process.
• Applies advanced techniques in CAD and standard design applications utilizing this equipment.

Experience:

• Significant experience with the complete mechanical design of assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Design for human error and incorporate error proofing principles.
• Proficient in the creation of SolidWorks models and drawings, utilizing industry best CAD practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate mechanical systems toward applicable mechanical standards, human factors, error proofing by design, and maintenance best practices.
• Provide field support including as-build drawings of new installations, integration into existing systems.
• CAD administrator experience - implementation of new CAD tools, development and modification of templates.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of CAD workstations for creating 2D and 3D drawings.
• Knowledge of drafting. Ability to interpret and apply design criteria and technical documentation.
• Ability to ensure accuracy in drawings in compliance with standards.
• Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
• Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly.
• Exposure to use of CAD modeling and computer programming skills.
