The Mechanical Designer will report to the Reliability Manager and produce detailed mechanical/equipment/utility drawings and 3D models per corporate standards for projects and reliability modifications, with attention to hygienic design.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Prepare construction-ready working plans and detail drawings from verbal concepts or rough sketches by team members
Create GMP designs with an emphasis on operability, maintainability, and uptime
Create/update 2D/3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and as-builts
Maintain drawing standards, title blocks, layer conventions, and vault
Incorporate redlines from field changes; coordinate with vendors/fabricators
Generate BOMs and support hygienic mechanical design details
Support the development of technical documentation (including, but not limited to designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards, etc.)
Participate in design reviews and drawing updates from initial design through final as-built drawings
Check contractor-prepared and vendor-prepared drawings for design intent and accuracy prior to fabrication and construction
Travel as necessary to support on-going projects, minimum of 5%
Promote personal and company image throughout the community
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in design drafting and 3+ years' experience in engineering role OR 5+ years in a mechanical design role
Extensive 2D and 3D CAD knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
