    Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

    Location: Katy, TX

    Job Type: Full Time

    Experience Level: 2+ years

    About the Role

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to support the design and development of mechanical systems for power generation platforms. This role is ideal for someone with strong CAD skills and a practical understanding of fabrication methods who can translate engineering concepts into accurate, production-ready drawings.

    This role will work on projects involving:

    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    • Hydrogen Fuel Cells
    • Natural Gas Engines
    • Electrification of Oil & Gas Service Units

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain fabrication drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for mechanical systems and components.
    • Support engineers and designers in the development of system layouts, enclosure designs, and integration of mechanical and electrical subsystems.
    • Perform basic tolerance stack-up and fit checks to ensure design manufacturability and assembly.
    • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure alignment between design intent and final product.
    • Manage CAD file organization, drawing revisions, and design documentation according to company standards.
    • Assist in preparing installation and service documentation for field teams.

    Qualification / Skills

    • Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design, preferably in industrial systems or power generation.
    • Proficient or some experience in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Familiarity with fabrication practices including welding, sheet metal design, and machining.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical specifications.
    • Strong attention to detail and organization; capable of managing multiple design packages concurrently.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
