Manufacturing Mechanical Support Engineer

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to support Large Mining Truck (LMT) production operations in a manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with manufacturing, quality, operations, and engineering teams to resolve production issues, support quality initiatives, and drive continuous improvement efforts. This is a hands-on opportunity supporting large industrial equipment and new product introductions.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing and assembly operations by resolving engineering-related production issues.
  • Investigate and address Assembly Quality Events (AQEs), Built-In Quality (BIQ) concerns, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, and design engineering teams to implement solutions.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings, machine prints, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support prototype and pilot machine builds as part of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Create and process engineering deviations and documentation.
  • Participate in VOC, AQE, BIQ, and warranty review meetings.
  • Perform pre-delivery audits, inspections, and basic mechanical verification activities. 

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of engineering, manufacturing, assembly, internship, or co-op experience.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both on the shop floor and in an office environment.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, CAD software, NPI, BIQ, or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus.
