Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $43/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer 3 will support the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components, working across both current product improvements and new product development. This role involves collaborating with engineering, supply chain, and lab teams to execute design changes, support builds, and manage component tracking. The engineer will also contribute to analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of mechanical systems. This position offers a dynamic mix of design work, lab support, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and test mechanical systems, tools, and equipment
Analyze design proposals, specifications, and feasibility for project execution
Investigate equipment failures and recommend solutions for maintenance and improvement
Support engineering changes, bill of material updates, and component tracking for builds
Assist in developing structural designs and engineering drawings using CAD tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and lab builds
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
57 years of relevant engineering experience
Strong experience with CAD tools and engineering drawings
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Experience with Teamcenter, JT models, or similar engineering data systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with 3D CAD and lightweight modeling tools
Exposure to financial analysis or cost evaluation in engineering projects
Experience working in lab environments or supporting product builds
Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., CoPilot/OpenAI) for engineering workflows
Experience in heavy equipment or manufacturing environments
