Mechanical Engineer 3
Location: Mossville, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 18-Month Contract
Pay: Up to $40-$42/hr W2

Overview

  • Seeking an engineer with a strong technical foundation and interest in the business side of engineering.
  • This role blends engineering, cost analysis, project management, supplier collaboration, and data-driven decision making.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, procurement, and stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and support new product development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets and identify cost, sourcing, and value creation opportunities.
  • Maintain dashboards and prepare reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) projects and component development programs.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Lead discussions, coordinate deliverables, and track project progress.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, sourcing strategies, and product tradeoffs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment.
  • Strong Excel, Power BI, Teams, and data analysis skills.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle, including requirements, testing/validation, and production support.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Creo modeling experience.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Exposure to cost analysis, sourcing, manufacturing processes, or product value engineering.
  • NPI or product development experience.

Ideal Candidate

  • Understands how components are made, where they are sourced, and why they are used.
  • Comfortable balancing engineering decisions with cost, manufacturing, and business considerations.
  • Enjoys collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Schedule

  • Full-time onsite in Mossville, IL.
