Job Details

The Project Engineer is responsible for designing and developing custom industrial automation solutions used throughout manufacturing and packaging processes. This role owns the engineering design from concept through production and product lifecycle while collaborating with Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
Evaluate customer applications alongside Sales Engineers to develop effective automation solutions
Perform engineering calculations to ensure system performance meets customer specifications
Design custom industrial automation systems using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 3D
Create approval drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawings
Develop accurate designs with proper tolerancing to ensure fit and function
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), purchase requisitions, and component orders
Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Support application reviews, project costing, and design validation
Plan and manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
Coordinate engineering activities with manufacturing and assembly teams
Communicate directly with customers throughout project execution
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize quality, cost, and project schedules
Support projects through production and final customer acceptance
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, packaging equipment, systems integration, or industrial automation
Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 3D
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering environment
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing industrial automation or conveyor systems
Experience with robotics, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems
OEM machine design experience
Experience with production flow management and manufacturing processes
Experience with production simulation and production analysis
Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Customer-facing engineering experience
