Mechanical Engineer

Pay Range $65,000 - $70,000 a year

Job Purpose:

\n

Review customer prints, specs and relevant documentation and lead the quoting and manufacturing process.

\n

· Interact with customers to identify needs and confirm design requirements—read and interpret/clarify customer specifications, documents, prints, quality and engineering requirements.

\n

· Develop and present customer quotes

\n

· Spec electrical components and identify alternative parts

\n

· Develop single line, layout, and assembly drawings

\n

· Maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy in ERP/MRP software program,

\n

· Main point of contact for build and electrical questions for the manufacturing floor

\n

· Work closely with production staff to meet manufacturing plans by providing engineering and technical support.

\n

· Determine test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed for new products/builds.

\n

· Lead assembly process for new products, ensuring that drawings, BOM, and Work Instructions contain necessary and accurate information

\n

· Facilitation and implementation of improvement projects

\n

· Write and improve Work Instructions to facilitate repeatable, quality product

\n

· Read and interpret electrical drawings and part specifications

\n

· Troubleshoot process problems and identify solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.

\n

· Collaborate with the Management team to improve systems and meet companywide objectives

\n

Skills/Qualifications:

\n

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Required. Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree preferred

\n

· Experience working in the manufacturing industry preferred

\n

· Experience with low voltage, control panels, ERP and MRP system.

\n

· Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and advanced excel functionality.

\n

· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to frequently changing priorities.

\n

· Proficient Computer skills and experience using databases, PDF editing, Draft sight, CAD, SolidWorks and Excel.

\n

· Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines

\n

· Exceptional communication, creative, analytical, and leadership skills

\n

· Ability to discern causation or root cause and determine appropriate corrective action

\n

· Ability to interface and effectively communicate with all employees at any level within the company

\n

· Ability to analyze and present data in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, management, and other employees to communicate

\n

Ability to read and interpret drawings (electrical & mechanical), parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures

\n

· Ability to write reports, customer correspondence and procedure manuals
