Responsibilities:

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis is looking to hire an Engineer to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy in the areas of Lithium Ion Battery Facility, Solid Waste and Hazardous Material In Service Engineering.

 

You will provide engineering, technical, logistics, and obsolescence support to U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, and U.S. Army, ships and vessels related to Lithium-Ion Battery systems, equipment, and facilities. This will include designing, evaluating, planning, testing and operating mechanical equipment and systems for commercial, government, military, and/or scientific uses. The candidate's primary duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Creating and updating mechanical designs and drawings
  • Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
  • Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
  • Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements
  • Engineering change documentation development/maintenance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on main and subsystems
  • Assessment and testing to determine qualified configuration of main and subsystems

Long term contract based out of the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and 3 years work experience.

 

  • US citizen with an active DoD security clearance at SECRET level, or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with equipment design principles
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems
  • Knowledge of Lithium-Ion batteries
  • Knowledge of Navy Data Environment Ship Change Documents
  • Familiar with fire mitigation principles
  • Familiar with welding configuration
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Familiarity military specifications for technical design
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on main and subsystems

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.


Posted Salary Range: USD $65,200.00 - USD $101,950.00 /Yr.
