This role will focus on mechanical system design for projects including power generation, substations, transmission infrastructure, renewables, battery energy storage (BESS), and industrial facilities.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and/or industrial piping system design within an EPC or industrial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical piping systems for industrial and power projectsDevelop conceptual designs, layouts, material take-offs, and construction packagesPerform HVAC calculations, equipment sizing, and piping/ductwork designConduct piping stress analysis and select valves, supports, and specialty equipmentPrepare engineering studies, estimates, and procurement documentationCoordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, contractors, and clientsReview vendor/shop drawings and support drafting teams with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and RevitPerform field verification, site inspections, and construction/commissioning supportAssist with project proposals, schedules, and client presentationsMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidanceQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university6–10+ years of industrial or EPC mechanical engineering experienceExperience with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and/or industrial piping systemsKnowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, IMC, IECC, NFPA, and applicable industry standardsExperience with piping stress analysis, equipment selection, and constructible design practicesProficiency with AutoCAD and/or Plant 3D requiredRevit and Navisworks experience preferredStrong communication and teamwork skillsPE License highly preferredMust be authorized to work in the United StatesPreferred Industry ExperiencePower generationGas turbinesRenewablesBattery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)Substations & transmission systemsIndustrial/process facilitiesApply today to join a growing EPC team supporting impactful infrastructure and energy projects throughout the Southeast.Company Description At Genesis, we love people.
