Mechanical Engineer
Boulder, CO (100% Onsite Position Monday - Friday)
Duration: Contract 5 months+
Start date: ASAP
Pay range: $40-$70/hr W2 DOE
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a complete Beta Plant equipment list, including all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation assets. o Collect, organize, and verify equipment technical data, including but not limited to:
Equipment specifications and ratings
Manufacturer and model information
Power requirements and electrical characteristics
Control and instrumentation details
Review and extract equipment information from: o Engineering drawings and P&IDs
Electrical one-lines and panel schedules
Vendor data sheets and submittals
Design packages and project documentation
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, maintenance, operations, and project teams
Resolve data gaps or inconsistencies
Confirm equipment scope and functional requirements
Align equipment data with plant standards and maintenance strategies
Interface with equipment vendors as needed to obtain missing or updated technical information.
Ensure equipment data is formatted and delivered in a manner suitable for: o Computerized Maintenance Management System (Limble)
Spare parts identification
Startup, commissioning, and turnover documentation
Track and communicate progress, open issues, and risks related to equipment data completeness and accuracy.
Support identification and validation of critical spare parts for plant equipment by: o Reviewing vendor manuals, BOMs, and recommended spare parts lists
Linking spare parts to corresponding equipment and asset hierarchies
Identifying criticality, interchangeability, and long-lead items
Supporting maintenance and stores teams with accurate part descriptions and technical details suitable for CMMS (Limble) and spare parts stocking strategies
Job Requirements:
Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineer degree or similar
8+ years of experience in post construction, start-up and maintenance scheduling.
