About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 0 5 years of experience in CAD and mechanical design to support DFMPro pre-sales activities. The role will work closely with customers, sales teams, and technical stakeholders to demonstrate CAD-based design-for-manufacturing capabilities, understand customer requirements, and provide technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre-sales activities for DFMPro and CAD-based engineering solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain DFM concepts to customers and prospects.
- Understand customer design and manufacturing challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Work with CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and mechanical designs to identify manufacturability issues.
- Demonstrate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles including machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and other manufacturing processes.
- Prepare technical presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and customer-specific examples.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to support opportunities.
- Assist with technical evaluations, customer requirements, and responses to technical questions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, demo materials, and application examples.
- Stay current with CAD technologies, manufacturing processes, and DFM best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 0 5 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or similar.
- Basic understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DFMPro or similar DFM/DFX software.
- Exposure to machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, or additive manufacturing.
- Experience reviewing CAD models for manufacturability.
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems.
- Customer-facing, technical support, applications engineering, or pre-sales experience.
- Ability to conduct software demonstrations and technical presentations.
Salary
The salary/rate for this position will be $40-$60/hr on W2 based on experience and qualifications.
