The Fountain Group is currently seeking a --------Mechanical Engineer III for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in --Charlotte,NC . Details for the position are as follows:
Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Travel to Hickory and Wilmington, NC sites as needed – approximately 50%)
Pay: $58–62/hr
Duration: 1 Year
The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, installation, commissioning, and integration of manufacturing equipment and automation systems. This role requires hands-on involvement throughout equipment build, installation, start-up, qualification, and performance verification activities within a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Design and develop mechanical equipment, assemblies, fixtures, and automation systems for manufacturing applications.
Create and modify detailed mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and assemblies using CAD software.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, debugging, and performance validation activities.
Verify equipment assembly, layouts, and installations against engineering drawings and design specifications.
Resolve mechanical equipment performance, integration, and installation issues.
Coordinate mechanical equipment implementation and integration activities across manufacturing sites.
Update engineering drawings, installation documentation, and equipment records to reflect final configurations.
Ensure compliance with machine safety requirements and industry standards.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology.
7+ years of experience in mechanical equipment design and implementation within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with mechanical equipment installation, start-up, commissioning, debugging, and qualification.
Expertise in manufacturing equipment design, assemblies, fixtures, and automation systems.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar mechanical design software.
Experience developing equipment layouts, mechanical assemblies, and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of machine guarding requirements and OSHA safety standards.
Experience supporting equipment performance verification and manufacturing process integration.
Familiarity with mechanical system integration involving controls, electrical, process, civil, and facility systems.
Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
Experience with automation equipment design and deployment.
Background in field installation support and equipment commissioning activities.
Experience managing equipment modifications and as-built documentation updates.
Knowledge of manufacturing assembly techniques and motion systems.
