Job Title: CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist
Location: Ventura County, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $30–$40/hr (DOE)

Job Summary

  • Seeking a hands-on CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist with strong shop experience
  • Primary focus is CNC programming, machine setup, and production machining
  • SolidWorks knowledge required for supporting design and basic part adjustments
  • Role is primarily shop-based with some office/design work (approx. 60–70% shop / 30–40% office)

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
  • Perform manual machining when needed
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and blueprints
  • Support SolidWorks-based part design and modifications
  • Assist with new product development and prototyping
  • Troubleshoot machining and production issues
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams
  • Support process improvements and shop efficiency

Qualifications

  • Strong CNC machining and setup experience required
  • CNC programming experience required
  • SolidWorks experience required (design support role, not primary focus)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong hands-on shop background preferred over engineering-only experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Preferred Experience with Equipment & Software

  • Haas CNC mills and lathes
  • Omax waterjet
  • Bystronic press brake
  • SolidWorks
  • CAMWorks or similar CAM software

Skills
