Mechanical Engineer - Code & Standards

We are hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Code & Standards) who specializes in ASME codes, regulatory compliance, and mechanical system design. The ideal candidate will ensure all mechanical designs align with applicable codes and standards, supporting the safe and efficient operation of nuclear systems.

Mechanical Engineer - Code & Standards Responsibilities:

Develop mechanical systems and components in compliance with ASME codes and relevant industry standards. Interpret, apply, and ensure adherence to national and international codes such as ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, B31.1, and NRC regulations. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to ensure design compliance throughout the development process. Prepare and review technical documentation, design calculations, and compliance reports. Participate in code compliance audits, design reviews, and safety assessments. Support certification, licensing, and regulatory submission efforts. Provide technical guidance on materials, fabrication techniques, and quality control practices related to ASME standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 7+ years of experience in mechanical system design with a focus on ASME code compliance. Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, piping codes, and relevant regulatory requirements. Experience in the nuclear, energy, or highly regulated industries preferred. Proficiency in engineering design tools and software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical writing skills. Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
