Job DetailsWe’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC system design to join a growing design-build team in Gardena, CA. In this role, you’ll help develop mechanical solutions for large commercial and institutional projects from early concept through construction, coordinating closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to deliver systems that are efficient, practical, and buildable. Responsibilities:
- Design and coordinate commercial HVAC systems for new construction, retrofits, tenant improvements, and design-build projects.
- Prepare mechanical concepts, calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, and field teams to support constructability and execution.
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Support coordination with general contractors, consultants, building owners, and facility stakeholders.
- Help resolve field issues and provide engineering support during installation and commissioning.
- Contribute to value engineering, energy efficiency, and cost-effective design solutions.
- Maintain clear documentation and support project turnover as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC system design experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, equipment, and design-build workflows.
- Experience with commercial projects such as office, healthcare, education, industrial, or data center facilities (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
- PE license or progress toward licensure (preferred).
