Mechanical Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical systems across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, developing practical design solutions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

The Mechanical Engineer will support projects through design, construction support, commissioning coordination, and technical documentation. This position will contribute to mechanical system design activities including HVAC, plumbing, equipment selection, system analysis, and field support while working closely with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and contractors.

This position is ideally suited for candidates located near Lakewood or Grand Junction, CO, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. Remote work may be considered for qualified candidates based on role requirements and business needs. Occasional travel to project sites, client locations, and Citrine offices is required.

Requirements:

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical building projects.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, system analysis, and engineering evaluations.
• Develop engineering solutions that improve system performance, reliability, safety, and code compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Support projects through design development, construction administration, commissioning coordination, and project closeout.
• Review project requirements, technical documents, and design criteria to support successful project execution.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and equipment assessments as required.
• Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolving technical issues during design, construction, and operational phases.
• Apply applicable engineering standards, codes, regulations, and company quality control procedures.
• Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and deliverables in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring activities.
• Work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines.
• Contribute to a safe working environment and follow company health, safety, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC and/or building mechanical systems design, or related engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, psychometrics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer concepts.
• Experience designing commercial building mechanical systems and HVAC applications.
• Experience with engineering design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and/or load calculation software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to conduct occasional site visits and travel as needed.

Background Check and Site Access
