An established, multi-disciplinary AEC consulting firm with over 135 years of industry excellence is expanding its Denver engineering operations. Following rapid multi-year growth—scaling revenue from $17M to over $24M—the firm is actively recruiting 1–2 Professional Engineers (PE) and 2 Mechanical Engineers-in-Training (EIT) to support an expanding portfolio of commercial, aviation, and higher education projects.
This opportunity is tailored for growth-minded engineers who want to avoid being "pigeonholed." As part of a 100% employee-owned firm (ESOP), you will work in an agile, highly collaborative multi-disciplinary environment alongside architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers.
100% Employee-Owned (ESOP): Build real equity in a firm where every employee shares directly in the growth and financial success of the practice.
Broad Project Variety: Gain hands-on exposure to diverse commercial environments— retail/grocery, commercial workplace, aviation, higher education, quick-service restaurants, and emerging tech infrastructure.
Fast-Track Career Advancement: Experience "big-fish-in-a-smaller-pond" visibility with clear promotional pathways, proactive mentorship, and annual formal compensation reviews.
Exceptional Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a hybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 days work-from-home), 4 weeks of PTO in Year 1, 11 paid holidays, and a supportive, family-feel team environment.
HVAC & Plumbing Design: Perform mechanical engineering design, load calculations, and equipment selection for air handling units (AHUs), chillers, cooling towers, compressors, hydronics, and building plumbing systems.
BIM Modeling & Documentation: Daily utilization of Revit and Bluebeam to create, coordinate, and review high-quality mechanical design drawings and construction documents.
Multi-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with internal architectural, interior design, structural, and electrical teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Field & Construction Support: Conduct site investigations, assess existing mechanical conditions, perform construction administration, and interface with general contractors and client stakeholders.
Project Oversight (PE Level): Lead engineering projects from schematic design through commissioning, conduct QA/QC reviews, sign/seal engineering documents, and mentor junior EIT staff.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
EIT Level: Active Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred (or track toward taking the exam).
PE Level: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain Colorado licensure via comity.
Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience within the commercial AEC market. (Residential-only experience will not fit project requirements).
Software: Proven daily working proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.
Project Portfolio: Exposure to retail, office buildings, aviation, higher education, or commercial hospitality environments.
Location & Travel: Based in (or willing to relocate to) Denver, CO for a hybrid schedule. Remote candidates will be considered if willing to travel 1–3 days per month for site visits and team alignment.
Ownership: 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) participation.
Time Off: 4 weeks paid time off (PTO) starting in Year 1 + 11 paid company holidays.
Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage packages.
Retirement & Bonuses: 401(k) with company match + Annual Performance Bonuses.
Professional Growth: Tuition reimbursement, exam fee assistance, and continuous professional development programs.
